A Great Eco-Friendly Gift Wrap Idea

This holiday, forget traditional wrapping paper for your gifts. Instead, wrap your presents in an Envirosax®.

Founded in 2004, Envirosax are extremely chic, printed, reusable bags that fold up and snap into a roll that is a little bigger than a roll of quarters. When opened, the lightweight, waterproof bag holds the equivalent amount of two plastic grocery bags so it easily fits in your handbag to keep on hand for all of your shopping needs.

Place your unwrapped presents in an Envirosax, tie the handles into a bow on top and give two gifts in one to your friends and family! These bags also make great stocking stuffers or hostess gifts.

Win $2,500 for your favorite charity

We blogged recently about our love for Yummie Tummie body shapers — designed to make the only muffin tops in our lives the ones we eat. Now our love had grown as the brand is delivering not just great looking bodies, but wonderful charitable efforts.

The Yummie Tummie teams is volunteering at The Homebound Cooking Program,  a service that cooks and delivers meals to the hungry in New York City. To support this program, and to encourage us to share the ways we help, Yummie Tummie is running a contest where readers and shoppers can tell them how you spread goodwill and win $2,500 for a non-profit and the chance to win enough Yummie Tummie tops for every day of the week. Sounds like a good reason to spread the good word!

Win $500 Worth of Thymes Gifts

‘Tis the season of traditions but yours may be worth something. Thymes, the home and body beauty company known for amazing-smelling gifts, is giving away $500 worth of their products.

Here’s the skinny: tell Thymes your family’s holiday tradition, be it baking, wrapping gifts together, singing Christmas carols into the wee hours (or something way more wacky!), and you’ll be entered to win gifts for six people on your shopping list (worth $500) wrapped and delivered to their door.

Hurry, the contest ends on December 7th so share your tradition soon.

Tell Demi Moore What You Want

What do you look for in a man or woman? Demi Moore wants to know. The new face of the new Helena Rubinstein All You’ve Ever WANTED fragrance, is asking us to tell her in a video.

Mrs. Kutcher, who is a very active social networker — just see her Twitter followers and Facebook page for proof —wants customers and fans to tell her what they’re looking for in their significant other.

Reaching people on this personal a level, especially for a celebrity, is something new and while it’s no doubt to promote the fragrance, her accessibility is refreshing.

Demi, who is planning to watching all the videos entered, is selecting her picks to create a compilation of what is “Wanted”, to be hosted on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.  And we get a peek into what Demi really wants in her video (above) and also check her out doing a little guerilla marketing.

You Have Until December 1st!

Shop Online for … Christmas Trees!

As far as shopping goes, there’s very little that we don’t buy online. Be it makeup, clothes, books, shoes or groceries, we’re usually one click away from getting our goods delivered right to us. But virtual Christmas tree shopping? This is a new level of convenience.

The folks at Green Valley Christmas Trees do all the work for you: just pick the type of tree you want (Fraser fir, noble or white pine) and size (up to nine feet), and if you order by December 21, you’re guaranteed delivery by Christmas. Plus, the prices top off at $250 so you’ll still have money for other online purchases. Check out the trees (and wreaths!) here.

Schedule a Black Friday Wakeup Call

Let’s face it: on Black Friday we could all benefit from a wake-up call. But a call from Cindy Crawford? Well that’s something new. To get shoppers out the door, JC Penney is offering shoppers wake-up calls from the supermodel herself and/or Kimora Lee Simmons and country stars Rascal Flatts.

JCPenney, opening their doors at 4 am tomorrow, is tapping their roster of talent to call customers. Cindy Crawford, the face and style expert behind Cindy Crawford Style brand, Kimora Lee Simmons, designer for JCPenney’s Fabulosity brand, and Rascal Flatts band members Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney, whose “Rascal Flatts American Living Unstoppable Tour” is presented by JCPenney.

Eager shoppers can sign up at jcp.com/wakeup or via the mobile site holiday.jcp.mobi.

An Easy Way to Support a Great Cause

Every once in awhile we see something that makes us look twice - and we’re not talking about a hot new pair of Louboutins. This video above, created and directed by Emily Somers, was positively heart-warming and the perfect reminder that life is precious.

The Pink Glove Dance, as demonstrated by the smooth-moving staff of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon, is not only adorable, but the hope is that the Medline gloves worn in the video will raise awareness and garner the support of health care providers. Plus Medline is pledging a donation to the hospital if the video hits a million views mark.

Says the hospital staff, “Our employees put together this video to generate breast cancer awareness throughout our hospital system. We had a ton of fun putting this together and hope it inspires others to join in the cause.”

So watch, share and spread the love!

Gobble Your Way to Old Navy

What’s the best thing about a big Thanksgiving meal? The extra energy we all need for Black Friday shopping. All those extra calories will come in especially handy for Old Navy’s Gobblepalooza.

Nearly 700 of their stores will be open from noon - 7pm on Thanksgiving Day and from 3am - midnight on Black Friday. (Talk about late night hours!)

As a bonus, Old Navy is going sale-happy with deals like 50% off all outerwear, $15 sweaters, and buy-2-get-1 free tee-shirts. Plus the first customers in line will receive a free Rock Band guitar and shoppers will be able to play the Rock Band video game - in between picking out stocking stuffers, of course. This holiday shop fest is also giving away a $200 shopping spree which could come in handy for post-holiday sales.

Happy shopping!
