Just in Time for Your Holiday Wardrobing Needs!

Mark Badgley and James Mischka have just made many budget-conscious women seeking a glamorously bejeweled wardrobe very happy. On Tuesday, November 17th, Badgley Mischka launched American Glamour Badgley Mischka on HSN television and on their website, HSN.com.

Having dressed all of Hollywood’s top celebs, Badgley Mischka is known for their very feminine, body flattering dress silhouettes that are adorned with jewels and beading. The brand has done an excellent job maintaining that same level of sophistication and elegance in their new items for HSN.

The product offerings include shoes, handbags, jewelry and apparel starting at $39 to $499 so all of your fashion needs will be met. We particularly love the sequin flats and hinged cuffed bracelet.

Happy shopping!

A Turkey Primer: Get Ahead on the Holiday Dinner

It’s T-minus one week to the big day of feasting and overindulgence. Are you turkey-ready? Here’s the scoop on what to buy and how to make it.

Farm-fresh and free-range is the way to go. The turkeys grown on the Good Shepherd Turkey Ranch are raised naturally, never fed antibiotics or animal by-products, and are grown to a natural rate before finding their way to your kitchen.

Plan for one pound per person, pick a bird ranging from 8-22 pounds, and Heritage Farms will send it on ice and will include the extra parts (giblets) for gravy and stuffing.

Once your order has arrived, check out this recipe, courtesy of Delish, for a turkey that’s bound to have your friend and family very thankful.

How to Get Your Feet Winter-Ready

The best thing about winter weather is the return of boots and the stashing away of sandals. Warm feet and cozy socks trump blisters any day, but keeping feet healthy should be a year-long goal, not just something to think about in the warmer months.

Podiatrists note that boots like UGGs and Wellies may keep feet warm and dry, but don’t offer much support, which may lead to sore and achy feet. Most people suffer from foot and leg problems due to the lack of arches in winter boots which could cause heel spurs and also shin splints.

Surgical Director of NYC FootCare, Dr. Oliver Zong, offers these cold-weather tips:

* Do invest in boots with support and an arch
* Don’t wear boots with heels, to prevent slipping
* Do wear good socks to keep your feet insulated
* Don’t let your toenails go untrimmed
* Do keep your feet as dry as possible to avoid cracking of the skin
* Don’t forget to moisturize the soles and heels of your feet daily
* Do allow your feet to air out between shoe and sock changes

Zoe Kravitz to be the Face of Glam Princess

Rock royalty, aspiring singer, actress, and now face of Vera Wang’s perfume, Glam Princess, Zoe Kravitz is adding model to her growing resume. And did we mention she’s still in college?

The daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, Zoe will be replacing actress Camilla Belle as the face of Vera Wang’s fragrance line, Glam Princess.

Kravitz has appeared in a handful of movies, including “The Brave One” with Jodie Foster, and “No Reservations” with Aaron Eckhart. According to People.com, the aspiring singer will add some edge to the campaign shot by famed photographer Bruce Weber.

Lands’ End CANVAS 1963 For How You Live Today

Lands’ End got its start in 1963 when founder Gary Comer decided to pursue his dream of opening his own business.  An avid sailor, Comer began his company selling sailing equipment for boat races.  By 1977, Lands’ End shook up its product assortment by pairing back on sailing products and standing more behind clothing for men and women.  And in 1978, the company introduced its first button-down cotton shirt.

Just over 30 years later, Lands’ End has relooked at its clothing offerings and has introduced CANVAS 1963, a timeless-classic brand for men and women created for the way we live today.  Products include updated versions of Lands’ End’s classic heritage poplin button-down shirts, modern khakis & denim, swim and more.

And!  If you act now, the first 1,963 customers will receive a limited edition messenger bag FREE with a purchase of $100 or more.  Shop now at canvas.landsend.com.

Laptops in Nail Polish Shades

Laptops are one of our ultimate necessities but there are time that we wish they were just a little … prettier. The standard black, white and silver shades are getting a little monotonous until now.

Dell announced their partnership with nail polish company OPI, known for it’s knockout shades like “I’m not really a waitress” and many more.

Beginning this month, customers will be able to personalize their Dell laptop or Inspiron Mini with one of 20 OPI classic colors, like “I’m Not a Waitress” and “Princesses Rule!” plus six Holiday Collection colors like “Dear Santa.” Sample images in the Dell Flickr account, and the full collection will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Do the Rumba

One of our favorite combinations is that of fashion and charity — especially when the designs are wallet-friendly.

RumbaTime fits the bill of cool design, affordability and giving back. The company, started by three college buddies, offers sleek silicone watches in an array of colorful shades and offers vendors who sell the watches are the incentive of a charitable donation of their choice.

As co-owner Joe Anto explained, “We want to give our retail partners the ability to support charities which are important to them and have a real impact on their local communities.”

At $20 a pop, there’s easily a shade that’ll fit into your wardrobe and likely that of other gift recipient this holiday season.

Beauty Rest, Improved

We’ve all heard about the benefits of beauty sleep but Beautyzzz’s Natural Silk Pillowcase take the idea of multitasking to a new level.

Rather than continuing to slather on night cream, which can disappear into a typical cotton pillowcase, the special case is said to improve skin’s moisture retention and absorption level, promoting cell renewal and maintaining natural pH levels.

According to the website, unlike cotton, the amino acids in silk proteins resemble those found in human skin, creating a virtually perfect pH balance that does not deplete hydrating moisture.

At $47, it’s pricier than a typical single pillowcase but cheaper than a facial and may just be worthy of an easy way to get rid of under eye circles.
